This is the place where Ford Decoding Software is NOW available for download.
Ford Decoding
Available for download are the first lot of beta releases of VINdate0.exe, VINdate1.exe and VINdate2.exe. These programs only decode the VIN date. e.g. JG21LJ, the LJ is 1971, September. The programs should be O.K. for use in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and the Asian countries that imported cars from those loactions, and also for early european and Mexican Fords up to 1978. After that the codes differ somewhat. They are NOT for use on vehicles built in the U.S.A., sorry, codes are completely different. The programs will decode these dates from January 1965 until December 2009, using the Australian, New Zealand, South African versions of these codes. NOTE, the contact email address is vk3ukf@hotmail.com
Software Available for Download and Screen Shots.
VINdate0, 1 and 2 are less than 1 MB and are NOT this site. They are at my file storage site at Sharemation. Clicking on a link to download will now take you there, sorry for any inconvenience.
There is also available, a Spanish language Mexican assembled Ford vehicle VIN date decoder. This has been made possible with the assistance of Mr Robert Hernandez of All Ford Mustangs.
www.allfordmustangs.com
It can be found at the file storage site with the other packages below. It is called MexVINdate1a.exe. There is no screen shot for it yet, but it looks similar to VINdate1.exe. If you were here before and downloaded the first beta of MexVINdate1, delete it and try MexVINdate1a. You will find it as a .zip file at Xythos. MexVINdate1a.zip
VINdate0.exe
VINdate0.exe is the garage version and will decode Ford two character date codes from 1965 until 2009. It also has the ability to save its window to the clipboard so you can paste it onto a word doc or save it as a bitmap in an image editor. It will also print the window as it appears. You can also change the colour of the text on the right hand side of the window.
VINdate1.exe is the De-Luxe garage version and will decode Ford two character date codes from 1965 until 2009. It also has the ability to save its window to the clipboard so you can paste it onto a word doc or save it as a bitmap in an image editor. It will also print the window as it appears. You can also change the colour of the text on the right hand side of the window. Pretty much the same huh. The only real difference is the obvious. It's bigger so that you can see it easier.
Imagine a picture or pictures of your car in the window NOT mine..
VINdate2.exe is the De-Luxe Studio version and will decode Ford two character date codes from 1965 until 2009. It also has the ability to save its window to the clipboard so you can paste it onto a word doc or save it as a bitmap in an image editor. It will also print the window as it appears. You can also change the colour of the text of the caption labels of the window. The big difference with this VINdate is that it can slide show a stack of pics of your car on its window with your cars details onscreen, and vary the time delay each image is shown for. It also has two different Labeling choices available.
If you downloaded the old VINdate2 when it was the only thing here for download, please uninstall or delete it and install the new VINdate2. It is a little bit smaller and installs into the common Ford Decoding Folder.

From an old auction notice comes this...........
145 *| 1 | 10/95 FORD FALCON FUTURA SEDAN, 6 CYL 4.0
OHC, T/BAR O/D, P/STEER, ALLOY WHEELS, ABS,
ROOF RACKS, A/C, FRONT E/WINDOWS, AIRBAG,
C/CONTROL, CD STACKER, REGD NO: XMB 689,
E/N: JGSWSU67429, VIN NO: 6FPAAAJGSWSU67429,
174,459KM
From the entire VIN number of 6FPAAAJGSWSU67429 comes the Engine
Number, JGSWSU67429. The first two letters on the left are basically,
1. Car Parts Made In......... J = Australia
2. Car Parts Assembled At.... G = Broadmeadows
After that is an S, and then a W.
We want the next two, the SU.
the SU tells us...October 1995.
If the VIN number has a made in the U.S.A style or look to it, like a 7G58R234947 or a 7R02S239778 or a 8T03J208820 instead of a AN01GE62654 or a JG21LJ177400 or a JG66RL95336, you are out of luck, sorry.

GT VINDICATOR.
Cross check your cars (first release proposed as GT only) VIN number data, such as the production location and model code and date with the Model Number information and production runs. It will also decode the other codes such as Engine, Transmission, Paint, and Trim. If you live in Mexico or South America or South Africa or Europe and you have information that would enhance a GT VINDICATOR to include your continents finest, please drop us a line. Obvious Primary Purpose is to see if that GT ?? for sale, used to be a TAXI or not.
SWAP MATE.
Breaks down FORD part numbers into understandable information such as which department made the part, what line of cars it is for, the first year of manufacture, the area of the car, and the part itself, so you can sort out what fits your car and what doesn't. It has a reverse mode as well to give an idea of what that number should be.
